John Lewis Christmas Advert 2012
John Lewis: The Journey
John Lewis’ much-anticipated Christmas advert will be unveiled tomorrow with the strapline ‘Give a little more love this Christmas’.
Dubbed ‘The Journey’, the ad’s theme is based around the extra lengths consumers go to find the perfect gift.
The ad, created by adamandeveddb, opens in a snow-covered garden with children making a snowman and snowwoman. The snowman then disappears, going on a journey across river, mountain, road and city in search of a gift. He returns on Christmas morning with a gift for the snowwoman.
The ad is set to a version of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s The Power of Love, sung by 20-year old singer Gabrielle Aplin.
The first full broadcast is due on Channel 4 during Derren Brown: Fear and Faith at 9.10pm on Friday.
John Lewis marketing director Craig Inglis said: “We know that our customers put real effort and emotion into finding the perfect gift for their loved ones at Christmas. This year’s ad brings that to life, with a creative twist, as we follow our hero on an epic journey.”

The campaign, running under the strapline Not Your Usual Christmas, was devised by creative director Alannah Weston and photographer Bruce Weber.

Fashion Sketches: Rachel Roy
Love these sketches! Whilst originally searching for Rachel Roy sketches (the first two sketches) I came across a little book of fashion illustrations. Just too cute to not share!
Best Dressed: Kate Hudson
Vogue's Best Dressed this week was Kate Hudson and I have to
agree. Kate wowed in a Prabal Gurung dress taken from the Resort Collection
2013, which has to be one of my favourite red carpet looks that I've seen in a
while - absolutely stunning!
It reminded me of the style of
the gold dress Hudson wore in 'How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days' - which is still
one of my all time favourite dresses.

LFW: Sass & Bide
These are just a few photographs from Sass & Bide's Spring 13 collection at LFW. Opinion is that this year London Fashion Week played it safe and won over buyers who described it as the most 'sophisticated' LFW yet. Highlights included Henry Holland and Vivienne who were seen to create fresh and young collections that had the potential to encourage shoppers to invest in their pieces instead of deeming them too quirky for general sale. While other names such as Jonathan Saunders and Erdem were picked out as being good commercially attractive collections, my favourite was the collection from Sass & Bide (above). Most of the pieces were extremely wearable and especially the high neckline dresses with embellishment and feathers will definately be trends to look out for on the high street.

Tom Ford.. Who else?
Tom Ford. The man of the moment with Gwyenth Paltrow debuting his Fall 2012 collection at this year's Oscars. Having recently had a project to create a new sub brand for Tom Ford it was hard for me to ignore this beautifully designed yet daring creation. It has to be said that among a back drop of the same-old low risk Oscar designed dresses, Ford's simplicity was a breath of fresh air. And according to Mrs Paltrow herself it was the first dress she tried on and who better to show off Tom Ford's genius other than her?
