John Lewis Christmas Advert 2012

John Lewis: The Journey

John Lewis’ much-anticipated Christmas advert will be unveiled tomorrow with the strapline ‘Give a little more love this Christmas’.
Dubbed ‘The Journey’, the ad’s theme is based around the extra lengths consumers go to find the perfect gift.
The ad, created by adamandeveddb, opens in a snow-covered garden with children making a snowman and snowwoman. The snowman then disappears, going on a journey across river, mountain, road and city in search of a gift. He returns on Christmas morning with a gift for the snowwoman.
The ad is set to a version of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s The Power of Love, sung by 20-year old singer Gabrielle Aplin.
The first full broadcast is due on Channel 4 during Derren Brown: Fear and Faith at 9.10pm on Friday.
John Lewis marketing director Craig Inglis said: “We know that our customers put real effort and emotion into finding the perfect gift for their loved ones at Christmas. This year’s ad brings that to life, with a creative twist, as we follow our hero on an epic journey.”
